Out of District Transfer Forms for 2023-24 School Year

Application for enrollment of a student without legal settlement in the school district must apply by deadline Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.  No applications accepted after the deadline.

  • Paper applications must be submitted to your child’s school by Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Mailed (US Post Office) applications must be postmarked by Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Emailed applications (rita.riggs@wayne.k12.in.us ) must be received by Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Online applications (www.wayne.k12.in.us ) under Parent Resources must be submitted by Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.


  • One application must be completed per student. No applications will be accepted after the due date.
  • Out of District Transfer acceptance is granted for one year only. (July 1 to June 30)
  • We do not provide bus service. Transportation to and from school must be provided by the parent/guardian.
  • A separate application is required for each child in the household.
  • All children must be enrolled in their approved school by Friday, July 14, 2023. If a non-resident child is not enrolled by this date, the approved application may be voided.
  • After an Out of District Transfer student has enrolled, a copy of the student’s educational records will be requested. (Transcripts/grades, attendance, discipline, achievement/assessment test scores, IEP/special education records, etc.)


  1. Complete Application Process for each of your children by Monday, May 1, 2023.
  2. Wait for confirmation letter from the elementary/secondary superintendent in June.
  3. Complete Enrollment Paperwork by July 14, 2023.
