MSD Wayne Students Excel at State Robotics Competition

Robotics teams from Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center and Chapelwood Elementary performed with excellence at the state of Indiana’s recent robotics competition.

The robotics team from Chapelwood Elementary earned a state championship at the competition. The students on that team are Ahmed Ahmed, Joshua Ramirez Flores and Jacob Modesto (pictured).

The Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center robotics team took part in the state competition as well, qualifying for national competition. Those students are Lexie East, Marco Ponce, Marco Martinez and Kamdin Anderson.

“STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) continues to be a strong focus for us, as we have more STEM-certified schools than any other district in the state,” said MSD of Wayne Township Superintendent Jeff Butts. “That focus is paying huge dividends, as is evidenced by our strong showing in our state’s robotics competition.”

The teams from Chapelwood and Lynhurst will both compete at the Vex IQ World Championship in Dallas in May.
