Two More MSD Wayne Schools Receive State STEM Certification

Ben Davis High School and Bridgeport Elementary have been added to the growing list of MSD of Wayne Township schools to receive STEM certification from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).

Each year, the IDOE certifies schools for their excellence in teaching science, technology, engineering, and math. MSD Wayne now has a total of nine STEM-certified schools, more than any other school district in the state. In addition to Ben Davis High School and Bridgeport Elementary, the following MSD Wayne schools have received STEM certification: Area 31 Career Center, Ben Davis University High School, Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center, Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center, Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center, Robey Elementary, and Stout Field Elementary.

“Our focus on STEM is laying important groundwork for students who will one day embark on careers in health care, engineering, scientific research, and more,” said MSD Wayne Superintendent Jeff Butts. “We’re grateful to all those in our schools and community who have helped make our district a STEM leader.”
