There are many people with vast knowledge of the history of our schools and community. MSD Wayne School Board Member Phyllis Lewis has recorded interviews with several people whose experiences in our community reach back decades.

Clyde “Chet” Wright

Clyde “Chet” Wright is a military veteran with deep roots in Wayne Township. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1936.

Reginald Jones

Reginald Jones talks about the development of a skills center at Weir Cook Airport in 1969. Students from the age of 16-75 received training there in areas ranging from carpentry to cosmetology to culinary arts.

James Baize

James Baize, a former MSD Wayne school board member, discusses the development and growth of the school district in the 1960s, including the construction of the present-day Ben Davis High School.
