Wayne Winter Games Set for February 8

The winter months can bring challenges to those who want to stay active and maintain their fitness. But an upcoming event at the Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center will chase the winter doldrums away!

The Wayne Winter Games and Giant Health Fair are set for Saturday, February 8. Sponsored by the Wayne Township Education Foundation and MSD of Wayne Township, the games and health fair will feature plenty of fitness activities and wellness demonstrations. Fun, movement, and health are the focus, and prizes will be awarded throughout the day.

Register by February 5 for the team competition, which involves teams of four competing in a series of team and partner fitness activities. Registration is $40 per team; teams must be co-ed and 18 years of age.  Information about the team activities is available here.

From 9:30 a.m.-noon, the event will host free fitness fun stations and the Giant Health Fair, which is open to everyone. The Giant Health Fair will involve more than 100 health and wellness organizations doing health screenings, healthy food samplings, safety demonstrations and more. Attendees will receive a “passport” that, once completed, may be redeemed for a medal and prizes.

This event is sponsored by IU Health; LHD Benefit Advisors; ONI Risk Solutions; Church, Church, Hittle and Antrim; Prime Smile; Edge Fitness; and On Target Health. Platinum sponsors include IU Health, Cannon IV, the Indianapolis International Airport, and RX Help Centers.  Visit wtef.wayne.k12.in.us for additional information.
