Rhoades Elementary receives $10,000 donation from Burlington Stores for school supplies

Burlington Stores, Inc., through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, has donated $10,000 to the MSD of Wayne Township’s Rhoades Elementary in celebration of its new store on 5660 Crawfordsville Rd. in Speedway. Burlington Stores representative Kristen Medler presented the check to Rhoades Principal Aretha Britton during a student assembly on Wednesday, August 29.

A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted school administrators and helped secure the donation for Rhoades. The donation will provide new supplies for each teacher’s classroom.

Principal Britton says the teachers will use the funds for a number of new classroom items. “On behalf of the MSD of Wayne Township, I would like to thank Burlington and AdopAClassroom.org for adopting our entire school,” she said. “Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in their classrooms.”

Rhoades is one of 11 elementary schools in the MSD of Wayne Township, located on the west side of Indianapolis. Rhoades serves approximately 770 students.

Burlington, in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, makes a donation to a local school in each Grand Opening market to celebrate a new store location.
