MSD Wayne to Recognize More Than 900 Straight-A Students

The hard work of hundreds of students throughout MSD Wayne will be recognized in a series of straight-A ceremonies in the months of August and September.

Students who received straight A’s during the 2016-17 school year will take part in the ceremonies. Each of them will receive individual recognition by MSD Wayne Superintendent Jeff Butts along with a plaque or trophy. More than 900 students received straight A’s last school year.

“It takes a tremendous commitment on the part of a student and his or her family to achieve all A’s in any given school year,” said Superintendent Butts. “Recognizing the hard work of these students is one of the best parts of my job.

The ceremonies for our elementary students are being held at Ben Davis High School. The first was held Tuesday, August 8 for straight-A students from Garden City, Chapel Glen, and Bridgeport elementary schools.

Straight-A ceremonies for Ben Davis High School, the Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center, and Ben Davis University High School will be held during regularly scheduled school board meetings at the MSD Wayne Education Center. Ceremonies for Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center and Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center will be held at their respective schools.
